What's on My Work Desk Today? {Lizzy}

Happy Wednesday!! How in the heck are ya' all doing? I have had this burst of positive energy in my life and I am so grateful. I know I keep going on and on about my Soul Restoration class I took a few months ago with Melody Ross...but it's because of all I learned about myself during that class that I am feeling so darn HAPPY!!:)

One of the questions we asked ourselves was....

"What am I believing about my patterns?"  Here is my journal entry, written just last night....

I have thought about this question for months. I finally realized that I set myself up to fall and fail with so many things. My patterns can be very, very good or very, very bad.

I BELIEVE I can change my patterns if I have a TRUE desire, It is up to me. the Lord has made it that way. It is His gift to us.

For me when I...

*eat healthy
*drink water
*workout
*get sleep
*have fun and alone time
*art and a clean home

This is a pattern that sets me up for SUCCESS!!!

{i would add blogging to that!}

I highly recommend you ask yourself the same question and see how you can set yourself up for SUCCESS:)

Okay...so are you ready to see What's on My Work Desk and meet dear, sweet Lizzy??

What I've been up too is sure making a mess of my desk-LOL.

My favorite basket...

A couple of pages I'm working on in my Art Journal...these warmer temps and sunshine make me think GREEN....

Not sure what I'll do here...I may create some handmade flowers, add a few birds, a sunshine and my fave poem and words...sounds like a plan.

Do you remember this from last week?

This is the background I was working on for Lizzy's She Art girl. This girl was very special to me and had to look just right. I finished her yesterday.

Since the real-life 11 year-old Lizzy had a major stroke nearly 2 months ago and has been so strong and brave I knew the canvas Lizzy had to be just as strong.

To remind Lizzy to always be herself strong and brave and beautiful....
Her favorite colors are green and blue....

What do you think?

I think she turned out perfect!

I sure hope you've enjoyed my Work Desk this week!! If you want to see more awesome desks and projects be sure and stop by Stamping Ground.

Girls, have a wonderful day!!!!

Lizzy's Benefit

Ladies, we did it!! Lizzy's Benefit was a SUCCESS!!! So much time and energy was put into this...you should have seen my house. Oh my, what a mess;) I spent the day cleaning and doing laundry. Felt so good to get our home back in order.

And even though I have more to do...I am calling it quits for the day and sharing the Benefit with you. Oh, what a night....

Kristin and I arrived at Horace Mann {Lizzy's school} around 2:30 and unloaded all the auction items and tables for the event. We were sooo grateful for teacher's and friends and that showed up to help.

That's Kristin on the right...we made quite a team!

Thanks, Sheridan and Kenton. They made "We Love Lizzy" buttons...so darling!

Here's a few photos of the gym before 6:30...

We had approx. 300 chairs inside the gym as well as outside. There were plenty of tables both inside and out, too. We were blessed with a gorgeous night and figured families could choose to stay in or go out.

Gina Bradley from Northwest Missouri State University created this amazing banner for Lizzy. Everyone signed it!!

These lovely journals were donated by my friend Peggy. THANK YOU!! My friend Laureen bought all 4!!

Girls, you can't believe how beautiful these journals are!!

Soraya...I wanted your print so bad but so did lots of other ladies....;)

Uhhhh, Leanne....we were all fighting for your scrappy bag of goodies....I lost out...but it was for a good cause and my friend Zana  ended up with it!!

There were several other items donated by my Blog friends...thanks to Jodi {i purchased hers} and Mandy {the Smith's have both the purse and the artwork!!}. And Kristin..I had to have your Baby Face!! My son Jacks loves it, too:)  You are ALL sooo kind and generous and talented!!!

Here is a sampling of the crowd right at the beginning of the Benefit.

All in all we served nearly 400 people!!!
Oh and here's our Guest of Honor...

That's Lizzy in the middle!! She had a blast with Gabba and Miriam.

She is still in Rehab and will be for several more months. The Smith's are a wonderful family full of faith. I admire them so much.

All in all girls we raised over $7,000!!! I am very proud of our Community!!!!

Thank you so very much again for your kind words here on Words of Me Project!!!

Expect Miracles....

I can feel God's Grace in my life today.

He is here...in my heart...guiding me along and I am listening.

I am at  peace and filled with joy and love. I am grateful for His gentle love.

Today is Lizzy's Benefit. I am overcome with emotion as I think about the way the Lord has blessed this endeavor.

We have nearly 150 items to auction off tonight. I am confident we will reach our goal and show the Smith Family how much we love and care for them.

The Lord has blessed us with a day of sunshine, blue skies and a slight breeze...just perfect!

There have  been times int my life I have been  paralyzed with fear. I know now that when I experience those kinds of feelings all I have to do is Pray and He will gently say to me...

I know the Lord is with me always.

I try my best to live my life with love and kindness for others.I try my best to give my best to everyone I meet.

All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

I am grateful for all the Lord has given me.

What a joy my family is. They lift me up and fill my heart and soul with the purest love I've ever known.

Thank you for all your kind words and gifts for Lizzy's Benefit tonight. I am so grateful for each one of you. May God Bless you.

Have a wonderful weekend and...

Happy Mother's Day!!!

What's on Your Desk: Lots of Art!

I woke up today feeling optimistic and excited about the day!!

It's always the BEST feeling when I do that!! I feel like I can do anything....I can "Write My Own Story"...be who I want to be...live my dreams....

Wednesdays are just so darn fun with "What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday" from Stamping Ground. I have been quite productive over the past week. Here's a peek at my desk.

This is a background I'm working on for Lizzy's Brave She Art girl. I hope to finish her by Friday...the day of her Benefit.

It's just the best feeling when my desk looks like this...it means I'm working.

And having fun playing, creating and experimenting.  Those are my new stencils. Found a set of 32 for under $5!

See that white wire shelf? That was the best $5 ever spent!! Gives me so much more space on my desk. Love that!!!

Here is one of my latest and current favorite Art Journal pages inspired by the Soul Restoration class I took in January.

These are all my favorite colors on one page.

Part of the journaling....

Playing around with a few of my new stencils. Love that bird!! Have soooo many plans for him!

There ya' go...I hope you have enjoyed my space today and been inspired. Be sure and stop by Stamping Ground for more inspirational desks!! Have a great day, girls:)

What's on your desk right now?

Murder at 123 Whodunit Street

Saturday night was a perfect night for a murder and our home was just the place to have it.

It was the "Class of '54"...they sure are a shady bunch of characters...

There's the Homecoming Queen, the smart as a tack, yet demure and Beautiful Girl...the Rock Star, the Business Man, the Nerd along with a few other "Wise-guys".

Don't let that sweet smile fool you.

They aren't as innocent as they look...

It took 3 bags of snacks, a 12 pack of sodas, a couple of pizzas and nearly 3 hours to figure out that "A-HA!"
THEY DID IT!

 The Nerd, The Rock Star and the Business Man did it!! {that's my son on the right and his girlfriend}

I am so proud of these kids...they are all such good kids!! On any given weekend anyone of these teens is in our home, hanging out. I am so grateful that none of them smoke, drink or do drugs. They are all about good, clean fun. I feel like my kids have been blessed with the best of friends!!!

Have you ever hosted a Murder Party?

Meet Claire...She Art Girl

Oh what fun I'm having taking Christy's Tomlinson's She Art Class. Now, it's true...I'm really having to squeeze this class in and am waaaay behind due to other commitments...but what time I have spent has been so informative {and fun}.

I have learned several new ways to layer and add texture to my collage art and I have learned how to create these darling She Art girls. This is Claire...

She is my first girl!!

Not only was she fun to create but what a great feeling...having a purpose to my creations. Love that.

She wasn't near as hard to create as I had anticipated. I love her and her message.

My next She Art girl is for sweet Lizzy...my 11 year old friend that had the stroke last month. Her girl is all about being Brave and keeping Faith in the Lord. I will be sure and share later in the week when I'm finished.

If you are interested in this She Art Class click here for more information.

Did you know there was a murder in our home Saturday night?

One of these innocent looking people did it...I wonder who......?
{Find out tomorrow}
