Enter and WIN!

It's Friday and Day 12 of our 14 Day Creativity Challenge. How are doing? Are you creating more? Are you thinking more creatively? I hope this has been an inspirational 2 weeks for you.

I have definately noticed a difference in my studio time. Even if I just show up for 10 minutes I'm getting a little bit done AND it's been a great stress reliever:)

These cute little guys have been fluttering around my desk for the past few weeks. I've been using them on everything from my Body Restoration book to my art journal.

My Word for this year is STORY. These past few weeks I've really been thinking about that and how it pertains to my creativity. Do I really create based on the STORY I am trying to tell? I realized that "No, I wasn't". That is all starting to change and what a HUGE difference it's making. I can't wait to share a piece I've been working on. Becca and Danielle have been my inspirations for this piece.

Here's another peek at my Body Restoration book...

I worked with tracing paper here...my first time. I love the look and will use again in my art journals. I used ribbon to attacth it to the page. Really cute.

Okay, so I PROMISED you a give away!! A few weeks ago I went shopping at one of my fave stores...TJ Maxx. Gotta love their paper/stationary/art area. Sooo many GREAT bargains! Anyway...I couldn't believe what I found there!! Look at these stamps!!

Aren't they cute? Can't you just think of a gajillion ways to use them??

Cards, journals, collages....

I mean that bird that says "explore" is sooo me! I can think of a million uses just for him.
Anyway...I found these at TJ Maxx and bought one for me and one for YOU!

In order to be eligible to win these all you gotta do is answer this question...

"What is your favorite time of day to create?"

That's it!

If you want to TWEET it or put this on Facebook or blog about it...please do! Then come back here and let me know for more chances to WIN!!

You have all weekend to enter...

  1. My favorite part of the day is between 7am to 4pm or late at night. Day time is when Harold is at work and Caly is at daycare. The late evening is when I am in my bedroom and working on my wreaths. I am the type of person who wants all my focus on the art. So it is best when I am alone.

  2. My favorite part of the day is late at night...though I miss the sunshine during this time,it seems that serenity abounds,as all is quiet at home during this time.I tend to be more of a night person-it seems that it always takes me a bit of time in the morning to collect myself and cogitate,as well!---Gina Hill Allen

  4. My favorite time of day to create is probably in the evenings. Traditionally that has always been when I do most of my work. Lately, early afternoon has been more accommodating. I like the sunlight, and most of the kids are still in school. :)

I have been following along these past couple weeks, and today I think I am actually going to get some real creating in! Im excited! ;)

  5. My favorite time to create is the evenings. There's just something about getting my bath and putting on my pjs that makes me want to play in my craft room.

  6. My favorite time to create is late at night, although I rarely get to. With a 5 yr old and now a new puppy, I'm up at the crack of dawn every day. But I don't think I really start waking up until 5 o'clock in the evening, so I am truly a night owl! :-)

  7. Wow! A fabulous giveaway! How fun! My favorite time to create is in the evening after the girls are in bed, dinner is over, and my husband gets involved in playing a computer game or something like that....then it's MY TIME!

  8. I enjoy creating when the kids have gone to bed, or in the afternoon when its just Alexis and I. There are times I like just sitting down while they are in the room making things also!

  9. What a beautiful post! I've missed so much! Your pages are bold and bright and so cool - I love what you did with the tracing paper. Your goodies are so much fun, thank you for the chance to bring them home ;)
I tend to art in the middle of the day - usually in the late morning when Kendra is in school and the house is clear.
Thank you for your visit and sweet comments, you made my day. xoxo

  10. My favourite part of the day to create is when I have done all my "have to do's"...it doesn't matter what time I finish...I sit down and "play" a bit...drawing...embroidering...doodling....painting...for as long as I can. Sometimes it's as long as 5 minutes...but it's one of my necessities!!! Thank you for asking! Thanks for a chance in your give away! xx

  11. My favorite time of day is morning, but because I work outside the home, I'm limited. I settle for whenever I need to relax, which is usually after work!

  12. My favorite time to create my cards is early in the morning before anybody in the house is up. I love sitting with the radio on and a fresh cup of coffee at my side. Yum! Lori Stout

  13. TJMaxx who knew?? will have to stop there next time I'm in the area. My fav time would be any time in my studio!!!!

  14. My favorite time of day to create used to be after the kids were in bed around 8:30pm till about midnight. Things are different now that my kids are in grade school or preschool and I actually have a few hours during the day all to myself. I rarely use that time to clean. I prefer to go into my craft room and create something. I don't usually create in quiet. I am usually listening to i-tunes or watching a period piece like a Jane Austen film. I don't know why but those movies really inspire me. I think my optimum time is from 10-11 and 1-4.

  15. My favorite time to create: Whenever and wherever I can squeeze it in. I love the afternoons when I get home early from work and can sit for hours before having to make dinner. I adore the evenings I can drown out the world and miss my bedtime because my soul is pouring out onto a page. As much of a morning person as I am NOT, I revel in the time I spend when I wake up early on the weekends and just pick up a brush! :)

  16. What a pleasant surprise! To come to your blog and find out you have candy!!! Yep, I can see so many possibilities for these stamps. My favorite time to create is whenever I can! It seems that my creative juices really flow when I have to fall asleep! haaa

This weekend I have created ALL WEEKEND LONG! I just finished my first background from the She Art Workshop. It's a combination of orange, yellow and your favorite color - turquoise! I've chosen the paper that I will make my girl out of. Can't wait to finish her! She's going to be so special.

I agree with you, you definitely need to create for yourself, first and foremost. I think people can see (through your work) how much you enjoy what you are doing and that you truly put your soul into it.

Oh, I did manage to get some housework done last night -- around 7:30 or so. I told myself I had to do that before I could start on my She Art this morning -- funny how that inspired me to Clean House!! My lovely neighbors brought over breakfast for me this morning around 9:00 a.m. (luckily I was up, showered and dressed) so I put fuel in the fire and that really gave me the energy to try new things.

Have a great rest of the weekend!

    Hugs,
    Kay

  17. Les, I wish I could take Body Restoration, I seem to have a constant battle with about 20 lbs that drives me nuts. I need to get to the point where I don't let the number on the scale define my day. :/

Love the link to the room you posted and LOVE that color of turquoise! That would make for a lovely craft studio!

  18. My favorite time to create is at 3:30 am. I wake early, and I have not yet gotten bogged down by all the "shoulds" of the day. Thanks for the chance to win these stamps - they are very cute.

I love all those butterflies they gave us for Body Restoration. I have plans to make some little faeries with them :)
