It is only when we silent
the blaring sounds of our daily existence
that
we can finally hear the whispers
of truth that life reveals to us,
as
it stands knocking
on the doorsteps of our hearts.
~K.T. Jong
It had been a month since I had created anything.
I would try and try
to paint
or scrap
or journal...
but nothing would happen.
My mojo had dried up.
It was depressing.
I mean, I LOVE to create.
To play
and explore
with paint
pens
ink
and glue.
Finally,
at long last
I was able to spend an entire day
in my new space.
It was wonderful.
And just what I needed.
A piece I'm working on for a friend. |
Most of the day was
spent without radio
or televison.
Just me and my thoughts.
A piece I'm working on for a friend. |
I realized I don't spend near
enough time just creating.
Just being in my space...
no agenda...
just playing.
Must do this very soon.

One of my very favorite
things about Saturday was
the Body Book
I am creating for the
Body Restoration Class
I am taking with Brave Girls Club.
Here's a peek...
What about you? Have you been in your studio lately? How long have you gone without creating? How did you get your mojo back??
Please share!!
Yeah!!! So glad you got it back. When I can't seem to find any creativity...I just show up right in front of a canvas, say YES, and figure it out later. :)
ReplyDeleteI've been mojo-less for over a month now, and it's bumming me out. Some big drama in other relationships (not even my own) took much energy from me in late December and early January, and I feel completely and totally drained. Plus, my studio space is a MESS (I've let the girls spend a lot of time down there during the holidays, and they've turned it into their school/toyland/hang out. I just told PG over the weekend that I am got to gain control of the space again. This post gives me such hope that it's possible. So glad you are finding your mojo . . . hope to find mine very soon. Hugs.

ReplyDeleteI'm in a mojoless funk right now, Leslie. Not sure how I'm going to get out of it. I think a lot of it is because I don't have a useable studio space right now. Maybe when I get my studio done, I'll get it back. I'm hopeful and love what your creating! :-)
ReplyDeleteWOW!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful post... looks like you got your "mojo" going in full swing! :]
Thank you for sharing your inspiring thoughts, and your wonderful artwork too.
How to a keep or get my mojo... by visiting other blogs, reading inspiring books, watching other artists create on video, joining a swap, joining an online art group, or take an online class. I think that's it... yep!!! :]
Have fun getting messy with paint!
Love that last piece, Leslie, for your Body Book. I'm with April--visiting blogs (but not for TOO long!), looking through art magazines and books, watching an art-making video, also getting some fresh air to "clear my head", all help get me back on track. I don't tend to force it; if I need to take a day or two off, I do. After all, for right now, I'm just doing this for fun!
