When we feel joyful, euphoric, happy, we are more open to life, more capable of seeing things clearly and handling daily tensions.
- Leo Buscaglia
Today, I am feeling happy. Today I am ready for anything.
How about you?
Lots of fun, random stuff to share with you today. Enjoy!
When I was 12 years old...this is all I could think about....
Shaun Cassidy....*sigh*.
I wanted to marry him, more than anything in the world.
I used to play his records and pretend like I was his back up singer.
I spent my days dreaming and imagining what my life would be like if only he were in it.
I doodled his name, in hearts all over my notebooks, my folder, my Trapper.
I was a member of his Fan Club and had over 30 posters of him plastered all over my room. {i still have every single one}
I knew every single word to every single song.
Yesterday, my Teen Idol was on Oprah. Oh my heck!! If only you could have seen me...it was hilarious! So there I was, on the couch with Emma sitting to my right, Dave on the left. Oprah did her introduction...then....in...he...walked....SHAUN CASSIDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No, not the Shaun Cassidy I remembered as a kid...but Shaun Cassidy just the same. And suddenly instead of the 44 year old Leslie that was married with two teen-age children I was 12 year old Leslie, in my room, belting out "Hey Deanie" and "Da Doo Ron Ron". I was bouncing up and down on the couch, flapping my arms and laughing. I was acting like my daughter does when Taylor Lautner walks out that first time in New Moon without his shirt on;)
So, yeah, Shaun Cassidy. My dream guy from the 1970's....he was and still is amazing:)
Here is one of my favorite Shaun Cassidy songs to put a smile on your face...
Some other stuff that has just made my week!!
*I won not one but TWO awards a few weeks back. I want to thank Angie and Nikki!! Next week I will post and pass them on!!!!
* What would I do without my Sonic Diet Coke with lime drinks. Love you, Sonic Happy Hour!
*My wonderful Mom gave me an early Christmas present and I am waaaaaay excited!! I am taking THIS class starting in January!! It is with one of my favorite people in the world Melody Ross!!!!
*My Scriptures. They have become such a part of my daily life now that I teach Early Morning Seminary. LOVE THEM!!!!
Ladies, I hope your week has been filled with joy. If your working on our Word of the Week remember to be "PROMPT" in all that you do!!!;)
What are you loving this week/weekend??!?!?!
Oh Leslie, thanks for the Shawn Cassidy fix!! I used to go up to the tv when Hardy Boys was on and kiss his face whenever he was on screen. (wow! can't believe I admitted that!) HA!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy plans for the weekend, included a cleaning project, soccer game, lots of diet coke! and I will work on scrapping ORDER, APRECIATION AND PROMPT! I'm hoping to get caught up!!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! Ok, that was me screaming teeny-bopper style over... *swooooon* ... Shaun CAssidy! LOL I had posters and magazines and music galore...lol Da Doo Ron Ron, girl...Da Doo Ron Ron!!!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI actually just watched a story on him on our local news. Obviously he's all the rage again : ) I'm glad he was still able to make your little heart skip a beat!
ReplyDeleteGuess what? I'm filing my bills as I type. Okay, so I took a little break :D
Have a great weekend!!
Nicole
He just spent the night in jail...but I didn't take the time to listen or google it. You can enjoy the fun of finding out why. It was on the news this morning. :)
ReplyDeleteI hardly ever watch Oprah, but I did yesterday just so I could see Shaun Cassidy. He was awesome and a real gentleman!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this post! It really took me back! I was madly in love with Shaun Cassidy, and even had that same issue of Dynamite magazine - scary, huh? Thanks for bringing back some sawsome tween memories :) (Stopping by from the LBS Tea Party!)
ReplyDeleteI used to have a huge crush on him too! I can't wait to see that episode of Oprah over here!
ReplyDeleteI host a little linky on Sundays called Sunday Song and I would love it if you could link up this post on Sunday!
Hope to see you then.
Best wishes,
Natasha.
PS Thanks for visiting my Christmas blog-it's lovely to meet you!
What a blast from the past! Fun, smiles, memories AND music - what more can you ask from a blog?? And MAN he really, really looks good, doesn't he?? Thanks for the smile today. (I believe it was David Cassidy who was busted for DUI, not Shaun.)
ReplyDeleteLOL!!!! Old Shawnie boy doesn't look half bad now, does he? What memories -- my teenage heart-throb was Andy Gibb. Loved him. Loved his songs.
ReplyDeleteLES!!! This post has me laughing so hard!!!! SOOOO FUNNY! I just knew you were a Shawn Cassidy girl! I knew it!!!!
ReplyDeleteME? Hmmmm . . . I was very fond of Michael Jackson (yes, I know), and then there was the time I had a quick little crush . . . . secretly . . . on . . .
Paul Simon.
NO!!!NOT THE POLITICIAN!!!!
I mean, Paul Simon from Simon and Garfunkel. (I know ... just about as exciting as the politician, huh?)
Luckily, I met PG. Real life is so much better!
;)
LOVE the joy that is over over this post my friend! I have bookmarked that e-course; it looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteShaun was my dream husband too ...
ReplyDeleteHA! What a great post - I have that Oprah recorded - have to check it out too! THANK you for your sweet question about the Alice necklace - it made me smile! And I sold out of them last night (how cool!) for the charity event, but if I get more supplies (out of Alice clip art) I will definitely let you know! I haven't actually sold them before last night . . . xo
ReplyDeleteHey! I was going to marry him!! I used to rush home from school each day just to ogle him on the telly! ☺
ReplyDeleteLeslie, I got to see a little of the Oprah show too. It brought back great memories for me too. Can't wait to hear how the class with Melody Ross turns out. I wanted to take it also but don't think I can commit the time with the new baby. I would love to go to BRAVE GIRLS CAMP someday!
ReplyDeleteI just watched that Oprah show this weekend. Funny to look back. And to see how styles have changed.
ReplyDeleteI have to laugh at this post. I was the same way. The Hardy Boys....... Doo Run Run! My husband and I were talking about him the other day. Shaun Cassidy made an appearance at our local mall that my husband and I both attended (Not together as I think we were in 3rd grade or so.) My husband was there with his sister and he was sitting on the floor when Shaun came out and my hubby got trampled.
