Friday Favs

Whoo Hoo it is FRIDAY! And boy am I ready for today!! Let's get right to my list of Friday Favs.

1. So, you may remember last weekend we spent in Kansas City cheering our daughter and her soccer team "The Twisters" on. Here are a few photos from that super, amazing, family filled weekend!!

Notice the determination on her face? Em is one tough player! She has been number 31 since we began league soccer 3 years ago. I hope she gets to keep the number throughout her HS career, too.

This is between games. Em and I just had to enjoy a cotton candy together. Our favorite!! And don't just love this photo of us? I do:)

Wherever Emma is, her best friend Maddie isn't far behind. This was Saturday night. We were figuring out our plans for the evening. The girls were really tired here.

Number 31 and 25:)

The girls sure do clean up nicely don't they? Em and Mad have been best friends for nearly 5 years. They met in 3rd grade and are like sisters. We love Mad's family, too. Really an awesome family!! This was taken at "The Legends" shopping area in Kansas City {by the Nascar Speedway}. We were on our way to Dave and Busters. That place is COOL!

2. Until Wednesday I hadn't been "girl" shopping in months! My friend Kristin and I went to St. Joe and had a blast! I bought several things just for me, tried on lots of clothes and enjoyed a yummy soup and sandwich at Panera Bread. We had perfect weather, too. Must remember to have more "girl" days!!! Rejuvenating!

3. Okay, so have you tried these yet?!?!?

Oh my heck!! AMAZING and the best part? They are just 100 calories!!
I also got the Reese's peanut butter ones. What is better than peanut butter and chocolate and just 100 calories! Found these little darlings at Sam's Club and snatched them right up. So far I've only had the pretzel one...don't want to eat them everyday...but at just 100 calories I can enjoy them a few times a week and not mess up my 1200 calories a day plan. Love that! I put a few in the freezer the other day and plan on enjoying one later today:) Check out all the flavors here.

4. While we're on the subject of calories...I gotta tell you...I have lost another 2 pounds this week!! I am beyond happy. Whoo Hoo!!! You can read all about my plan and progress by clicking on the line at the top that says "30 Day Weight Loss Challenge".

5. We've been having thunderstorms quite a bit this spring. Heck, we even had a twister just a few miles from our home a few weeks ago. Anyway, Sunday night we sat on our patio, watching the clouds build and build. Here's Em with her Dad...they enjoy storm watching together....

Look at that sky...the wind was just starting to really pick up here. A few minutes later Em spied this...

It was actually so much bigger and a double rainbow...I just couldn't capture it all on my camera.

6. I have been so impressed with 3 blogs lately. I find myself going to them daily for inspiration and a lift. I found Debbie Doo's from my friend Angie's Blog. {Angie is my interview next week!!} Her sense of style is fresh and bright. I can only wish I had even a percent of her creativity and style!!

When I really want to stop and think about life, both the good and the not so good I know I can count on my friend Courtney. She gets to me to really thinking about my life. Love her blog Domestic Blunders. So much good stuff over there. You will be so happy you stopped by!!! {you may recognize Courtney, she was a major contributed to "Memory Makers" magazine and she has a really cool idea book about scrapping your faith}

Finally I want to shout out to my friend Leanne {again}!! I'm not obsessed, really, Leanne! It's just that she has done something really cool over at her blog From Chaos Comes Happiness and I don't want you to miss it. She re-designed her blog and created her very own blog button. I can't help but admire her!! I wouldn't have a clue how to do that...AND she posted this darling, fabulous book she created for her MIL and you MUST see it! So good!

7. My sweet girl Em is running for school President. She made the Primary so she has more to do to get ready for the big election. Here are her campaign posters she made last night with her "campaign manager"...Love these!!

This was Em on her way to school this morning. Aren't these good?!?

That's it, girsl. My Friday Favs. So many good, good thing going on in my life right now. I am so blessed. Each and everyday I say a prayer of gratitude to my Father in Heaven for His many blessings. I am so grateful.

I have a fun artsy CHALLENGE coming up. I'll announce next week!!! And have pictures of what I've been working on...:)

Thanks to all my Followers and Readers. I appreciate each one of you!!! And love reading and being inspired by your stories!!

  2. That sounds like a fabulous weekend Leslie! My sister lives in KC. I love Legends! My husband and I are there often when we visit because there is a Cabela's in the same parking lot. The Nebraska Furniture Mart is next door too. If we had those in CA I would be in BIG trouble!

Go Emma! I'll be cheering for her from here : )

  3. LOVE the Friday Favs, Leslie, AS ALWAYS!!! Trish's comment above on the 100 calorie packs cracks me up, because as I was reading your description of the goodies, I was thinking THE SAME EXACT THING!!! SO funny! Love the photos of Em doing what she loves (soccer, friend time, school - she looks like she is embracing life, and that is all because of YOUR joy for it, Leslie, that she does what she does!!! So, be proud of yourself - you are one great Momma!!!)

And thanks for the shout out on the blog look - it was SO MUCH FUN, and I think definitely the ONE (took me long enough to get there!) What's I love is that I can still change what is on my desk on the header and the background and stuff like that - because, you know how I need to CHANGE stuff. But with this, I can still keep the main design. Can you tell I am proud of it? I really am. Thanks, again, for the shout out! It means SO MUCH!!!

Hope you have an absolutely WONDERFUL Mother's Day!!! I'll be sending happy mom thoughts to you (and all my other friends in blogland) this weekend!!!!

    Love ya!!!!

  5. What a great idea--Friday Favs! I loved reading about yours. Your daughter seems amazing! One of my favs? It's homemade pizza night (cooked up by my husband) and no school to wake-up for in the morning!
