Okay...so on with Week 5!! Our WORD this week is
RENEW
to restore or replenish: to renew a stock of goods.
to make, say, or do again.
to revive; reestablish.
With Spring comes the overwhelming feeling to RENEW. I am ready to let go, restart and replenish my soul.
These past few weeks have been completely crazy and so, so busy. And while it's all been good, good stuff...I am in need of an Art Day. A day to just BE. A day to put the crazies away, to just putter around in my studio. A day to sift through my treasures, thinking, dreaming and creating.
The great opportunity is where you are. Do not despise your own place and hour. Every place is under the stars, every place is the center of the world. -John Burroughs
Our first assignment this week is simple. Create a list of 21 things you can do to RENEW your soul, your day, your life.
Each of us may have different ways we do this. For some it may be a cup of coffee at Starbucks {Leanne-lol} and a good book...for others a long walk in the woods will do the trick. The best way I know to RENEW my soul is to spend time being quiet. I love spending time alone in my studio with my favorite tunes, the sun shining in and all my supplies. Pure bliss. I am also filled up by reading the Scriptures, sitting on the couch with a cozy blanket and favorite movie or taking an afternoon nap with the sun shining on me.
The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are. -J. Pierpont Morgan
RENEWAL is a big part of living our dreams, girls. It's too easy to be busy going and doing all the time. When we allow our time to be eaten up...there is then no time for our dreams. Our inspiration shrivels up and we start living on auto-pilot.
It's too easy to stay where we are.
Don't let your dreams die. Take time this week to RENEW yourself. Promise yourself that TODAY you will do ONE thing just for you!! Fill yourself up!!
“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”
― Audrey Hepburn

What fills you up and renews your soul, girls??
Yes, yes and yes! You've given me some great ideas here! I love the quotes too!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea....we need to study ourselves once in a while. Everyone would be surprise of what they will learn about themselves. For the last two years I have been learning a lot about Me. It is really interesting on how our past plays in our present and future.

This is so much fun - I am really enjoying this e-course. THANKS for inviting us all on this journey with you!
ReplyDeleteWoo-hoo...I'm loving all of the giveaway opportunities, Leslie! I really like that Audrey Hepburn quote. She's a favorite of mine. Making a list of ways to renew sounds like FUN! Now to schedule some of them into my day...
ReplyDeleteI love this so much. love the quotes, I have a whole quote journal, besides the quotes I've put in my art one. The quote from Audrey will defintely go in both journals. I think the thing that renews my soul the most is alone time/quiet time/time creating or just knowing that I have the whole day to myself to do whatever I want, and without anyone needing anything from me....is that selfish? lol, even if it is, being by myself is the best therapy.
ReplyDeleteYes! Yes! and Yes! The sun is shining and I'm in my studio-----------renewing. I love the time to play. Thank you so much for this e-creative course.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying seeing all the pages people are doing. Would like to see some techniques discussed and/or taught.
ReplyDeletei love all of the words you use each week... i am excited to make my list and maybe even complete an art journal page around that :)
ReplyDeleteI am REALLY LOVING this E-Course! I've been growing so much with all your wonderful lessons. Spending time with my Lord is always a re-newing time for me. My art & poetry are what re-news me also.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all you do.
Hugs, Poe
This has been a great course! Art is what is renewing me after some of the things I've been through in the last year. I go into a meditative, prayerful time with my art.
ReplyDeleteGreat prizes, btw!
I am really enjoying the lessons I am taking from this course! Thank you for the prompts and ideas, and the entry to win!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea to renew! Thanks so much for a great post!
ReplyDeleteoh what a great work, and what fun giveaways! THank yo so much. I can't wait to work with this word!!!
ReplyDeleteYes Please! Okay, Renew. Wonderful word. I am still on overcome this week as my Father in Law is staying in my studio! Back to normal soon - and will do both words.
ReplyDeleteYou have NO IDEA how much this has meant to me - it may be clear to you what I'm going through - but this book has become a huge form of therapy for me right now - and when done, will provide a tremendous insight into this hard time. Renew is so perfect, thank you!
Happy Birthday to hubby! xoxo
I'm also behind since my friend is staying in my studio this week. We are having fun scrapbooking and doing crafty things so it feels like I'm renewing my energy and inspiration. Thanks again for a great topic to ponder Leslie!
ReplyDeleteThis has been an inspiring course. Thanks for offering it. (and the goodies also)
