Challenge #3

Be ready to play and have some fun today as we create an Art Journal page or scrapbook layout or canvas centered on this word...

Everyday I wake up and tell myself that today I am gonna smile more than I did the day before. There is so much power in that one little word, isn't there?

A friendly look, a kindly smile, one good act, and life's worthwhile.  ~Author Unknown

I can think of so many times when I didn't feel like smiling, but did it anyway and immediately felt better...can't you?

And what about when you see someone in the grocery store or while you're out walking...have you ever noticed how their whole demeanor changes when you give them a sincere, from the heart smile?

Today, give a stranger one of your smiles.  It might be the only sunshine he sees all day.  ~Quoted in P.S. I Love You, compiled by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Most days I have much to smile about...I have a loving family, a beautiful home, my Church, my Mom close by and a computer I get to sit at everyday and spill my heart out to.

Life is pretty good...definitely worth a smile or two:)

Life is like a mirror, we get the best results when we smile at it.  ~Author Unknown

So our Challenge today is this...take some time and think about what truly makes YOU smile. Make a list of everything you can think of...everything, no matter how small, no matter how long.

Now the best part...use your list to create a page in your journals or maybe match up your list with a favorite photo and use in your scrapbook. The choice is yours.

Here are two projects I was inspired to make...the first one is a 5x7 canvas panel. I painted the letters free hand with acrylic paint then used a black sharpie to outline.

See my Bird...she is there reminding me that when I smile I am happy:)

I know this panel is a bit juvenile...but that is the look I wanted.

So, while this was cute it wasn't exactly what I was going for...so this afternoon I made my way to my craft room and began drawing, cutting, painting and Mod Podging. It was so peaceful. First I painted the background with orange and yellow acrylic paint then drew my sun on patterned paper and cut out.

After Mod Podging it all down I took black acrylic paint, a teeny, tiny brush and painted on my words...

Smile is in the center of my sun while each ray shares what makes me smile. Here is the list...

*Art
*Warm days
*Dave's smile
*Little Gizmo yawning
*Jack's silly side
*Em sharing my blanket
*Birds

Speaking of birds...here is my beautiful blue bird telling me that all of these things bring me happiness:)

What is the sunshine without a few pretty flowers?

Another look...
I drew those clouds on foam, cut out then inked with a sky blue ink.

This page just makes me SMILE!!!:)

Now it is YOUR turn!! Make a list of what makes you smile and enjoy!! Be sure and share in your blogs or on FB or tell us what you are up to right here in the comment section:)

**Remember you are NEVER, EVER behind. Never! Just jump right in and play!!
