I have trouble journaling. I can't ever seem to put in to words what I want to say. When I do journal it just sounds lame.

  2. Oooh, that's the first book I noticed when I looked at your photo! I haven't heard of that one. My favorite things to journal about are the everyday things; I have recent spreads about my kids' summer activities, their (difficult) eating habits, that sort of thing! I have been buying a ridiculous number of new art/craft books...keep getting sucked into sales and coupons! But I love them! I really like the idea behind that Crafters' Devotional book; I thought it would be fun to make my own version of it, with some of my favorite projects and techniques...maybe something to pass along to my girls.

  3. I love books like these. I journal about the little things in life and usually those work themselves into ideas about the bigger things!

  4. Art journalling for me is about expressing myself because though I do traditional journalling as well I find that sometimes words can't do the job justice. So for me I tend to art journal about things that I may not want to voice or share out loud.

  5. Hi, thanks for the opportunity to win your give away, I'm new to art journaling but love it, the topic I most journal about is ME and my jouney to better health. I finally admitted last year that I am a bing eater and I have issues with food - so I find it therapeutic to write about my thoughts and feelings and also to create to keep me busy

  8. Thanks so much for the opportunity to win this book!!
I journal primarily about two things, myself (emotions, issues, attitudes) and the beach - any beach.
I discovered this morning that part of my art journaling impetus comes from the fact that I can write down even really ugly things, and then cover them up with paint and paper. It helps me to get these pesky minions out of my head.

  9. Okay, I said I'd pop in and check out this giveaway...but I don't want to be part of the drawing because I already have this book! And, if I won, then I'd have to have a giveaway!!! But my favorite topic to journal about...actually, I love using quotes and seeing where that takes me...it usually jars a memory loose, or really speaks to me that day...thanks for doing this Leslie! Hugs!

  11. How exciting!
Journaling can be inspiring, when scrapbooking it is often exploring the stories of our family history and how similar the generations are
In my art journals it is more about planning bright new things for the future

  15. I love to tell the story behind a picture. There is so much more meaning when you have context. I also love to record the little phrases and "isms" of my children. I know I will forget, and having the stories from day-to-day living are so precious years later. My older ones can't get enough of hearing about what they said and did when they were too young to remember.

  16. Hi, I'm only new to 'Art' having been learning for the last 8 months has been a wonderful and enriching experience. I guess the main topics I journal about are positive affirmations i.e. self acceptance and accepting my level of achievement in art. Also, I am using a lot of healing themes, having just lost my sister and Mum, it has helped a lot .

Hope you're having a wonderful day xx Karen

  18. Oh HOW fun! Well, I would have to say that I don't always actually journal in my art journals (shy smile ;) - but when I do, they tend to be quotes or positive affirmations more than anything else.
As far as my favorite books: you know I love myself some True Colors (Stampington) and I also adore The Art of Personal Imagery - these are both older but are always a source of inspiration. Thanks for this chance to win my friend, xoxoxo

  19. My favorite thing to journal about are the challenges I have dealing with chronic illness/disabilities - grief over the minute and monumental ways my life has changed; healing on every level, but especially mindset and various traumas; and the ways in which I am redefining myself, my place in the world and how I view and interact with life.
Would love to win - and thanks so much for the opportunity!

  20. I totally love journaling about my family first. I then journal of my struggles and challenges on a day to day basis. It is such a rewarding experience and therapy for me. I absolutely NEED to do it every single day.

  22. Nice collection, I need more AJ books..lol I am sure my husband would argue I need no more books!!!

I am not sure what my fa topic to journal about is though. So busy journaling about feelings, and such I cannot be sure. But I think it may be time or the passing of time. I have a few on that...:)

  23. My favorite journaling topic---or at least most frequent----is just the daily happenings. Syphoning them off onto the page gives me closure...readies me for the next day.

LOVE that you keep your inspiration books all snuggled together. Would love to win a book with a journaling perspective.
